This project requires a proven track record in implementing software on a tight schedule.
The Office of Medical Cannabidiol at the Iowa Department of Public Health seeks an experienced IT project manager to facilitate the implementation of the medical cannabidiol IT patient registry and seed-to-sale tracking system. In May 2017, the Iowa Legislature passed HF524, which required IDPH to create a program to manage all medical cannabidiol production, transportation, and distribution from seed to sale. One component of this is an IT tracking system that will be used by manufacturers, dispensaries, laboratories, and state employees to track all aspects of medical cannabidiol production and sales in the state.
The IT project manager will work with the MCBD Program Director, IDPH stakeholders, and the software vendor to implement the IT tracking system on time and within scope. IDPH has already issued a competitive procurement process to select a vendor; the IT project manager will work with this vendor to successfully implement the selected solution. The IT project manager will manage the timeline, project plan, and budget to implement the software according to legislative timelines. The IT project manager will work to eliminate risks and barriers to success and communicate regularly with IDPH mCBD Program Director to ensure on time delivery of deliverables.
